Sunday 24th. November 2024 Staffordshire County Showground.
Well ... Storm Bert wasn't going to put us off having a jaunt out today - and wow! were we pleased we did, apart from the 03.00 wake up that is.
Sedgley & Gornal Canine Association Premier Open Show with 1726 entries - under Breed Judge Glenn Robb who had a superb strong entry of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Carsan Richie Rich (Ricky) won first in a strong Junior Class, and then went on to win another Best of Breed.
We stepped in to the big ring for the Toy Group to represent the CKCS, and with only one or two absentees, this very large group was judged by Clive Jones.
First he made a short list of 6 including Ricky, and then went on to present us with Group 3! If Clive Jones had seen Ricky an hour before, wet, muddy and filthy dirty due to popping out to take care of the business in atrocious weather, I don't think he'd have given us Group 3 ...
My sincere thanks to both judges, Glenn Robb and Clive Jones and of course the fabulous stewards.
Enormous gratitude to the committee for putting on a brilliant show, superb rosettes including the special ribboned place card. Now I know why so many people support this great show, and of course, venue. We've had a great day. Special thanks to Rog for hours and hours of driving in stormy weather conditions, the photo taking, and sharing the picnic.
Happy Days! ... and just in case you're all wondering where Carol is at the moment ... she's very busy
being a mummy to a fabulous litter of new Great Dane puppies, so she has her work cut-out for her ... bless her.
Needs must, and so Ricky and I continue to fly the Carsan flag for CKCS Team Carsan!
Goes without saying, as the year draws to a close ... we both look forward to 2025 as both Ricky
and Woody mature from youngsters to happy healthy fully trained Show Dogs ... bring it on!!
